Food porn: $177 burger

10 10 2008

In South Korea, the W Seoul — Walkerhill restaurant serves up a $177 burger.  And good golly does it look delicious. That one hamburger manages to have almost everything I love the most in the food world.

Visually, without even knowing what the ingredients are, doesn’t it look delicious?  So what do we have here? We have Australian Wagyu beef topped with seared foie gras and shaved black truffles on a brioche bun.

The other delectable mounds on the plate are tomato, grilled red onion, fresh asparagus, wild pine mushrooms and a lobster tail and the other is watercress and shaved fennel salad.  You are supposed to put the lobster combination on top of the burger and eat as a whole. Oh heavens.

Chicken McNuggets and Fish Sticks

10 10 2008

Banksy, the ever elusive mural painter, was/is in NYC and his works can be seen all over Manhattan.  However it appears he doesn’t just paint murals on buildings and streets.  Most recently, he set up an installation of a mock pet store which the New York Times documented.  Go to the link to see the other installations but I posted two for my blog as they specifically relate to two of my favorite childhood meals and frankly, I found them hilarious.
